1. No, I'd rather earn it *if* I was just starting out. However, since I'm not just starting out, I wouldn't be wearing Shining Jea armor anyway, so it doesn't apply.
2. No.
3. Yes, I'd buy it, but first I'd try to haggle the price down to or 450g, or 400g. The seller shouldn't be selling anything if they're unsure as to its value, it's just stupid to do so.
4. If I agreed on a 50/50 split, I would honor my agreement, so yes. However, I don't farm anymore, wouldn't ever be duo farming the UW, and probably wouldn't agree to a 50/50 split in the first place, unless I actualy trusted my partner.
5. Value is realative. I've certainly sold items for (MUCH) more than what the average person would consider them worth, but if the buyer didn't agree that it was worth it, or had bothered to inform themselves on the items value, they wouldn't have purchased my item.
6. No.
7. No.

1.You find someone offering free collectors armour you are wearing Shing Jea, do you take it?
2.You find someone offering free collectors armour you are wearing better but identical armour, do you take it?
3.Someone tries to sell Black dye for 500 gold do you a.ignore it b.Buy it C.warn them
4.You are 50/50ing the UW then 1 group of smites drop 3 ectos for you , rightfully 1 of them is your partners, do they get it?
5.Have you ever sold an item for more than its worth beacuse you know you'll get away with it?
6.Have you ever pulled a scam? (no details please, and im talking soft scamming)
7.Have you ever been scammed
1. If you're talking about someone offering the collectable drops for free, then sure, why not.
2.No reason to take crappier armor than the armor on my back.
3.I'd warn em. They would've prolly gotten 50 pms of ppl wanting to buy anyway.
4.Never done this, but I'd have to say sharing drops with my partner would depend on whether or not they're doing a good job.
5. I sell things for as high a price as I can, I wouldn't consider it scamming or being something I'm trying "get away with". Usually though if I'm selling in-game I'll sell for a slightly lower price than what's being offered so I can get it sold and get back to farming or w/e I was doing. I figure selling for 5k less I can get back to farming and earn the 5k where I'd be standing in town forever if I sold for a normal price.
6. One time some of my guildies and I, uh, "temporarily manipulated" the market in Deldrimor War Camp so that two of us could buy a Brohn's Staff for 30k when they were selling for 60k usually. (>.< The staff isn't good enough to be worth 60k >.<) That's the only time I've done something "sneaky".
7. Many have tried, none have succeeded. I've had a punk Wammo try and scam me back when I used to craft and sell Deldrimor Steel, and then that same classic wammo that I think everyone's come across in ToA that tries to scam ppl selling ectos.

I don't trade and I don't need charity, operiod!
I have found newbies who flatly denied my free gifts, because they weren't perfect.
On the other hand, free gifts make newbies lazy. It makes them stay in town, begging for 30G to open a storage, or trying to buy credits for 50G so they can sell them for 100G.
This is a game, and you bought it to play. Standing in town to beg for money is not "playing". People who do that, will eventually quit the game after a week or so and your free gifts are wasted.

The general idea seems to be that people honor morals but dont trust anyone... I can see where a lot of people have come from with this, to be honest someone offering free stuff is often to good to be true.
Alot of people seem confused by question two...I suppose it could be better phrased
2. Someone is offering somehting free that you dont need do you take it?
I question at the top is more to do with the fact I had several people (only about 3-6) try to take the bracelets without getting the armour, I then saw then later selling them in the market....
Alos can i change my 6.
Once I was selling Lians in the market (yes I go there alot) and some other guy was selling them undercutting my prices...So i kept dropping mine....he kept dropping his, I droped mine stupidly low at 1k (but taking no trades) he dropped his to 900 just to spite me...I swapped chars bought his lantern and retuned to selling them at the normal price - I still carnt belive that it worked, does that count as a scam ^ ^?

1) No, I don't really like the appearance of collector's armor.
2) No reason to.
3) A, he's probably going to replace it with a really dark mixed dye.
4) Yup.
5) No, everyone hates me, they don't want to buy my items.
6) No, I wouldn't do something that stupid.
7) Not on Guild Wars

1. No. I prefer to work/earn for the things that I want/need.
2. No. If I don't need/want it, I rather not waste inventory space, even if it's free.
3. Warn them if in Pre-Searing, otherwise ignore it as they have access to dye traders so they should have checked first.
4. Of course, if we agreed to 50/50, then it's 50/50.
5. No. However, how much someone is willing to pay is not for me to judge. If it's worth more to them that it does to others, then that is their business.
6. No.
7. No. The few that have attempted, have failed.

yesterday I was buying a bone dragon from a guy and he did the bait and switch with a putrid cyst. I mean......come on......you think anyone would fall for that? A scam is one thing, but a pathetic attempt for a very high-priced item that the buyer is automatically going to be on scam alert is just a waste of the scammer's time.

It's something the new player quickly learns in GuildWars. Trust no one not even if he is offering stuff for free. The sad truth is that there is a horde of abusive players just stalking on their newbie pray, trying to scam them in any way possible.
I'm quite sure that by now every new starter is either uber careful or has allready been scammed by someone else. It's that bad, just have a look at the tutorial areas. They're scammer's heaven and an honest players nightmare (for example 4 people spamming they'd buy black dye for 200 gp).
To actually enjoy GuildWars you'll have to have a look at the common scams page first.
About the questions:
1.You find someone offering free collectors armour you are wearing Shing Jea, do you take it?
Nope.
2.You find someone offering free collectors armour you are wearing better but identical armour, do you take it?
Nope.
3.Someone tries to sell Black dye for 500 gold do you a.ignore it b.Buy it C.warn them
I'd warn them, but that would most probably earn my some harnished flames. Had that happen a few times where those folks i warned about the dye went full aggro on me oO
4.You are 50/50ing the UW then 1 group of smites drop 3 ectos for you , rightfully 1 of them is your partners, do they get it?
I only do this kind of stuff with friends anyway. So yes, they get it.
5.Have you ever sold an item for more than its worth beacuse you know you'll get away with it?
Depends. I've done the buy low, sell high way quite a bit but i'm making sure that the offer doesn't fall into the realm of scamming and if someone offers far too much i even tell them that my expectations were somewhat lower.
6.Have you ever pulled a scam? (no details please, and im talking soft scamming)
Nope.
7.Have you ever been scammed
Neither but i've seen lots and lots of attempts to scam me. About every other trade nowadays is a scam attempt. Everyone will try the lame story of "oops miscalculated" first for example.

Charity or not, i think that doesn't really matter here. People have a natural instinct to fear the unknown and being a newb to the game, or even if you are an experienced player, you are always going to be cautious about something you do not know. It's like if you see a creepy looking dark room, do you just happily stride in, or do you take just a peek to see if there is a reason it looks so darn creepy and dark.
It's common sense and instinct that takes over when presented with a situation like what you have described. You approach them to help, they did not ask for it, hence they weren't expecting help. You then present them with a situation they are not familiar with, (i.e. jade bracelets for armour?), fear of the unknown kicks in, which leads to caution kicking in. Once those two are in play together, pretty much anything you say to convince them that it's not a scam and you really are helping them becomes useless, as they will think you are a scammer trying to convince them you aren't. The situation would be really different if you were to offer help to someone who is asking for it however, since they expect the help and fear and caution doesn't kick in quite so soon.
Maybe if you just gave them the bracelets and informed them of what can be done with them, instead of grouping with them and mapping them, you will have less grieve. Oh and if you feel that people are trying to exploit your charity, why not just provide them with the info only, just a thought, cause what you are doing is weird, and perhaps why people feel it is a scam.
